- at least one A level (or a minimum of 32 UCAS points in an equivalent Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Child Care and Education, including an NVQ or BTEC National Diploma/CACHE Diploma in Child Care or a recognised Access to Higher Education Certificate in a related subject
- two GCSEs at C (grade 4) or above in English and Maths or equivalent qualification to be agreed in consultation with the University Academic Liaison Tutor (ALT) before acceptance
- one year of full-time experience working with children in an Early Years nursery or school setting
- current clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to work with children
- two satisfactory references
